The glacial circus of Chamalières #
At the foot of the Plomb du Cantal, the glacial circus of Chamalières invites you to climb to the Col de la Molède, for a 13 km walk. Hikers discover a breathtaking panorama of the picturesque village of Albepierre. On this path, nature is displayed with its coniferous woods and the soft murmur of the Benet stream, and for the luckiest, it is not uncommon to spot chamois or mouflons.
The family trail of Albepierre #
From the charming village of Albepierre, a family walk unfolds through forests where the charm of red-ochre tones delights visitors. This path leads to three waterfalls, named Vergnes, Prés Longs, and Prapsou, offering an enchanting setting to recharge in the midst of nature. Don’t miss the opportunity to take a detour to the fortified village of Allanche and the Veyrines waterfall.
The Chaos of Landeyrat #
A few steps away, the Chaos of Landeyrat majestically rises above the Cézallier plateau. Although it has a desert-like appearance, this site is a true refuge for many species of birds and reptiles, revealing an exceptional floristic richness. The Palhàs path #
The Palhàs path, labeled as a Sensitive Natural Area, begins at the village of Molompize. This 1.5 km path allows you to (re)discover the work of the vine, while providing a stunning visual spectacle with its dry stone walls and the vibrant hues of autumn nature.

The Pêcher Lake #
Another point of interest, the Pêcher Lake offers a peaceful setting where bird watching and fishing coexist. Surrounded by the forested area of Pinatelle, this sensitive natural space is ideal for lovely walks along the water.
The plateau of Chastel-sur-Murat #
At an altitude of 1220 meters, the marked paths of the Chastel-sur-Murat plateau provide a total immersion between peat bogs and shallow lakes. This landscape is a true eden for Cantal cows and amphibians, inviting you to spend a day of escape in nature.
