A promising start from Lyon #

Châtillon d’Azergues: First stop in Beaujolais #
The first stage just twenty minutes from Lyon, Châtillon d’Azergues, immerses you in the charms of Beaujolais. The villages of Châtillon-sur-Azergues and Charnay, with their golden stone buildings, evoke a little Tuscany. For wine lovers, the local cellars and vineyards are sure to delight.

Lamure-sur-Azergues: The heart of Beaujolais Vert #
Thirty minutes after Châtillon, Lamure-sur-Azergues opens the doors to Beaujolais Vert with its forests and agricultural land. Explore the surrounding area on foot thanks to the hiking loop n°8 or hop on your bike to cycle the cycle touring loop no. 3.2 through the Pyramide forest.
La Clayette: A heritage treasure in Charolais #
After Lamure, the train crosses impressive works of art such as the Claveisolles helical loop and the Mussy-sous-Dun viaduct, before dropping you off at La Clayette-Baudemont. Discover the Drée castle, often called the “little Versailles of Charolais”. From there, wander the green hills of Charolais-Brionnais in search of spectacular panoramas.
Paray-le-Monial: Finish in style #
The trip ends at Paray-le-Monial, a major place of pilgrimage with its magnificent 12th century Romanesque basilica. Stroll through its medieval streets and visit the municipal museum Le Hiéron, dedicated to sacred art. For the more adventurous, a 67 km cycle loop awaits you to connect La Clayette to Paray-le-Monial.
Additional excursion to Digoin #
To extend the adventure, take a TER from Paray-le-Monial to Digoin, famous for its canal bridge over the Loire. You can rent boats without a license for an unforgettable river cruise thanks to the Les Canalous agency, located near the station.

The journey from Lyon to Paray-le-Monial takes approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes at a cost of €22.40 at full price. The connection is provided by four daily TER return trips, supplemented by slower coaches which serve more stopping points. Non-removable bicycles are transported free of charge within the limits of available space.
