A choice motivated by ambition #
Every summer, a growing number of students from École 42 in Angoulême choose to immerse themselves in coding rather than indulging in seaside pleasures. For many, it is a quest forExcellency and a burning desire to succeed. Tom Gomez, for example, is determined to pass his final exam to enter school in October. After a failure the previous year, he devoted himself fully to this new chance, with rigorous routine which sees him coding every day from 1 p.m. to 3 a.m.
Independent and team learning #
One of the fascinating aspects of School 42 is its unique teaching approach. In this establishment, the absence of teachers and guidelines forces students to train in autonomy. Axel Guiet, recently graduated from high school, expresses his surprise at this disconcerting freedom: “Not having a teacher or instructions is very strange. » However, he admits that this atypical environment allowed him to adapt and learn from his peers, thus creating a human experience rich.
Learning for the future #
For these students, coding all summer is not just a summer activity, but a essential preparation for their professional future. Julie, 25, considers this attempt crucial for her development: “This learning will serve me in my professional life. » Likewise, Hetan Bourdin, another participant, recognizes the value of his efforts: “Even if I am not selected, this session will have taught me a lot of things. THE coding is always useful. »
A balance to find #
Despite the determination of these students, they emphasize the importance of finding a balance between work and well-being. Julie insists that it is crucial to “give your all, while maintaining balance, that’s the most important thing. » This balance between rigor and relaxation is an issue that attracts everyone’s attention, because burn-out is a risk to avoid in this demanding course.
