Doris Roquefort: an artist with an inspiring journey #
Originally from Quillan, Doris Roquefort has always nurtured a passion for art and decoration. Having managed several businesses in the region with her husband Willy, she decided to devote herself to her true calling: artistic creation. Doris presents the public with a varied range of decorative objects, including a festive collection focused on Christmas, a selection for children, and seasonal creations aimed at adults.
Each of her pieces is made from natural materials such as moss, chestnuts, and branches, combined with artificial supports. Through her work, she offers a glimpse into her inner world: ” For me, creation is an escape from the daily routine. I create with passion, without counting the hours,” she confides. This approach has allowed her to create unique works, such as jewelry boxes and Christmas ornaments, which are already attracting the attention of visitors to the tourist office.
Yanis Roquefort: a bold approach to decoration #
In parallel, her son Yanis Roquefort, a performing artist in Bordeaux, adds a contemporary touch to this exhibition. By repurposing everyday objects with a unique sensitivity, Yanis creates fascinating lamps from industrial elements such as car rims, axes, or old electric radiators. Each creation is a unique piece, adaptable to any type of decor.
Influenced by his mother, Yanis began to express his creative sense from a young age. Passionate about decoration, he shapes his works during his returns to Quillan, in the family garage. His artistic vision allows him to repurpose these overlooked materials, giving them a second life and thus offering functional and surprising creations.
