IN BRIEF
|
After a year of closure for renovation work, the Forum des Pertuis in La Rochelle Agglo is ready to once again host congresses and corporate events. With a first event planned as early as January, this public facility, with a capacity of 1,108 people and offering stunning views of the ocean, positions itself as a key player in business tourism in the region.
A renovated and modernized facility
The first phase of the work at the Forum des Pertuis, which began last year, focused on compliance and enhancing this space dedicated to seminars and exhibitions. For a cost of 2.2 million euros, the renovations have refreshed the 2,100 m² facility, which is situated in a prime location between the ocean and the Minimes marina.
The operations director, Sylvain Fagot, highlighted that severe weather conditions required significant work to repair the damage caused by storms. However, the site is now back in service with enthusiasm, marking a much-anticipated return to the landscape of business tourism in La Rochelle.
An impressive capacity
The Forum des Pertuis has a maximum capacity of 1,108 people, making it ideal for large-scale events. The spacious upper hall, recently renovated with a bamboo floor, now features a terrace overlooking the ocean. The view provided by this space is undoubtedly a major asset for attracting event organizers.
Facilities for optimal comfort
Particular attention has been paid to user comfort. Sun shading systems have been integrated to prevent overheating in the summer, while the installation of an airlock at the entrance helps limit heat loss in winter. These renovations not only beautify the space; they also enhance the energy performance of the establishment.
Windows have been opened in certain rooms to maximize the influx of natural light, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The reception furniture has also been completely renewed, and relaxation areas with tables and chairs, as well as a water fountain, have been created for the well-being of participants during breaks or moments of conviviality.
Future prospects
The renovation project for the Forum des Pertuis does not stop there. A second phase of work, planned for the northern half of the building, notably the amphitheater, is scheduled to begin at the end of 2025. These improvements will continue to elevate the structure among the best facilities dedicated to business tourism in the region.
With these transformations, the Forum des Pertuis asserts itself as a formidable competitor in the market for professional events. La Rochelle Agglo, with its exceptional natural setting and quality facilities, thus positions itself as a top destination for companies looking to organize memorable events.
