A rich career of experiences #
Jacqueline Coquet is a well-known personality in the town and vineyard of Fronton. Since 2001, she has held various positions, including as deputy mayor for communication and culture. Her career at the Tourism Office began in 2010, where she had to demonstrate great energy and a multitude of ideas to promote the region’s viticultural heritage. Under her presidency, the office has made a name for itself on the French wine tourism map.
Notable achievements #
One of the highlights of her term was obtaining the valuable label “Wineries & Discoveries” in 2018, which was renewed in 2022, attesting to the quality of services and promotion of the vineyard. This label is the result of effective collaborative work with local elected officials and winegrowers. Coquet often emphasizes the importance of unity in building a solid tourism project. “The union of our efforts was essential for success,” she asserts.
The House of Wines and Tourism #
The House of Wines and Tourism, inaugurated in 2010, represents the culmination of a project that began in the 1990s. Located in the magnificent Château de Capdeville, this 19th-century building and its 6-hectare park have been carefully restored to welcome a diverse clientele: wine lovers, hikers, and art enthusiasts. This place is designed as a showcase of local produce and reflects the dynamism of Fronton, combining culture and viticulture.
A legacy to preserve #
As her departure approaches, Jacqueline Coquet knows that the new presidency will be responsible for maintaining this tradition of hospitality and regional animation. The mayor, Hugo Cavagnac, has already announced his candidacy. For him, the vineyard is a cornerstone of Fronton’s identity and an asset to be dynamically promoted with local winemakers and partners. “It’s an invaluable resource,” he underscores, emphasizing the importance of uniting efforts to valorize this know-how.
