This journey led the members of the AJPP to explore iconic cities such as Perugia, Siena, Spoleto, and Assisi. Max Eymat, the president, described this trip as “a journey of wonder,” highlighting the cultural and historical richness of these destinations. Perugia, with its underground city, captivated the travelers, just as Assisi is closely linked to the emblematic figure of Saint Francis.
The architectural and historical jewels
The cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta in Siena amazed everyone with its architectural splendor. The historic square of Siena, a must-see on any itinerary, was also the setting for an unforgettable encounter between history and the joy of local festivities. In addition to the monuments, the candle-making factory in Bevagna revealed artisanal know-how, offering an enriching glimpse into the region’s traditions.

Beyond the cities, the journey also allowed for admiration of the Marmore Falls, a natural wonder that left visitors speechless. These falls, surrounded by lush greenery, illustrate the wild beauty of Italy and offer breathtaking panoramas. This contrast between urban culture and natural splendor constituted an essential part of this Italian experience, balancing historical discoveries and sensory pleasures.
A moment to celebrate the twinning
This trip also marked a climax to celebrate the twenty years of twinning between Pierrevert and Palaia, strengthening the friendly ties between the two municipalities. Members shared moments of conviviality, exchange, and laughter, designating these friendship pilots as precious moments to cherish. The camaraderie helped create a warm atmosphere, highlighting the importance of cultural partnership beyond borders.
