Located in the province of Siem Reap, the archaeological site of Angkor Wat, classified as a UNESCO World Heritage site, stretches over 160 hectares of pure natural and cultural beauty. Runners move amid ancestral temples, lush rice fields, and palm tree groves. This unique course, where history intertwines with nature, transforms each stride into an unforgettable experience.
A growing number of participants
For this eighth edition, nearly 1000 runners, including 500 French, gather at the starting line. The event attracts more and more enthusiasts, many of whom are expatriates living in Southeast Asia. Jean-Claude le Cornec, the organizer, explains that the trail has seen a significant increase in interest and participation, including local runners, who have grown from a handful to nearly 400 this year.
Distances for all levels
Participants have the choice among six distances, ranging from 8 km to 100 km. Everyone can thus find a challenge suited to their level. The courses are carefully mapped out to allow runners to explore the site while experiencing the thrill of competition. The varied profile, including sandy paths, picturesque villages, and ancient temples, makes each distance unique and special.
