An Adventure in the Pilat Regional Natural Park #
THE Pilat Regional Natural Park, nestled between the Rhône valley and the Massif Central mountains, is the perfect setting for hiking and trail enthusiasts. Its varied landscapes, ranging from dense forests to alpine meadows, not forgetting rocky ridges, provide an ideal playground for testing high-performance sports equipment. This park is also renowned for its panoramic views of the Alps and the Rhône, its picturesque villages and its rich cultural heritage.
Preparation and Organization of the Test #
For this test, our team has prepared carefully. The objective was to discover as many landscapes of Pilat as possible by alternating trail and hiking over two days. The course was divided into segments of approximately 15 km with 1000 meters of elevation gain per day. We traced our route on Visugpx, then imported the GPX tracks into the GPS watches Garmin Fenix 6S.

The first day, dedicated to trail, allowed us to test the new Hoka Speedgoat 6 trail shoes. On the rough terrain of Pilat, these shoes demonstrated impressive grip and perfect cushioning for long distances.

Hoka Anacapa 2 review #
The second day was devoted to hiking with the Hoka Anacapa 2 hiking shoes. Our experts hiked the picturesque trails of Pilat, testing the robustness and comfort of these shoes designed for medium to long hikes.
The Anacapa 2 proved to be stable, waterproof and grippy on different types of terrain. Equipped with a membrane Gore-Tex, they guarantee optimal protection against humidity. Their EVA foam midsole provides excellent cushioning for comfortable walking over long distances. This version also incorporates environmentally friendly materials, with recycled mesh and a midsole made from 30% sugar cane.
Equipment and Nutrition #
As the Pilat paths are very technical with passages of stones, roots, and scree, it is essential to have good trail shoes with real grip and stability. Poles can also be useful for steep climbs.
In terms of nutrition, each participant brought their personal reserves: cereal bars, fruit paste, and a little solid during the breaks (bananas). With Pilat’s six different microclimates, it is crucial to hydrate well and take 1L of reserve water, using local sources to refuel while treating the water as a precaution.

This test stay was not only an opportunity to evaluate the performance of the new Hoka shoes, but also a moment of conviviality between advisors and ambassadors. The feedback was unanimously positive, highlighting the quality, durability and innovation of this equipment.
