In Saint-Brieuc, the French Red Cross makes vacations accessible to all!
The French Red Cross in Côtes-d’Armor, through its Holiday Campaign 2025, strives to offer moments of relaxation and escape to those who need it most. By providing various leisure activities and seeking host families for children, the organization works to make going on vacation not a privilege, but a right for everyone. Thanks to initiatives like escape days and caravan stays, the French Red Cross works for an inclusive and supportive summer.
Happiness days within reach
In Saint-Brieuc, the French Red Cross has designed rest days, allowing 500 people to escape for six outings for only 3 €. These happiness days offer various destinations, including Kingoland, Saint-Malo, or Île de Bréhat. These moments of freedom provide an excellent alternative to break away from the daily routine and allow participants to fully enjoy the sun and nature.
A friendly stay in caravans
For families wishing to enjoy a longer moment of relaxation, the French Red Cross provides five caravans located in different campsites by the sea. These caravans will allow 20 families to spend two peaceful summer weeks, promoting sharing and social ties. A beneficial initiative for those who cannot afford to go on vacation but still want to experience family moments.
Welcoming children from outside
As part of its “World Friends” initiative, the French Red Cross is actively looking for host families for children aged 9 to 13 from Guadeloupe and La Réunion. This period from late July to early August represents a wonderful opportunity for cultural sharing and mutual enrichment. Welcoming these children is not only a beautiful experience to live as a family, but also an act of solidarity that will leave a mark on the participants.
Day of the Forgotten Holidays: a significant event
The Day of the Forgotten Holidays will take place on August 20 at Champ-de-Mars in Paris. This emblematic event will bring together 80,000 children for a festive day. Participants will have the opportunity to visit prestigious places such as Versailles or the Louvre Museum, before gathering for a giant picnic where all the magic of summer will be expressed through activities and surprise concerts.
A call for solidarity
To carry out all these activities and make vacations accessible to all, the French Red Cross calls for everyone’s generosity. Annick Mauger, head of the campaign, emphasizes the importance of these contributions, stating that a donation of 50 € can provide a day of vacation for a child in need. Every gesture counts and can turn the summer of many children into an unforgettable memory.
For more information, registrations, and donations, the French Red Cross office in Saint-Brieuc is open from Monday to Friday from 2 PM to 5 PM, at 107 rue Jules-Ferry. Every contribution, whether financial or in the form of volunteering, will help make vacations accessible to all.
