Seaside Getaways: A Tarbes Tradition
The city of Tarbes enthusiastically renews its Seaside Days proposal every year. Initiated by the CCAS, this free program aims to provide a day of relaxation for those who do not have the opportunity to go on vacation. For 19 years, this program has been highly successful, allowing the residents of Tarbes to enjoy exceptional coastal landscapes, such as those of Hendaye and Saint-Jean-de-Luz.
A Rich and Varied Program at Your Fingertips
During the summer, these getaways come to life with a well-organized program. Day trips, scheduled every weekend from July to August, enable those who register to escape to the Basque coast. Popular destinations like Hendaye, starting in July, followed by Saint-Jean-de-Luz in August, are on the agenda. In total, 16 days are organized, including some public holidays, to ensure everyone has a great opportunity to enjoy the sea.
Accessible Outings for All
These seaside days are primarily aimed at families, young people, and workers, also welcoming seniors within the limits of available spots. It is an initiative designed to offer a true breath of fresh air. Andrée Doubrère, in charge of the program, reminds us that registration is simple, allowing as many people as possible to benefit from these outings. The possibility of signing up on a waiting list ensures that every resident of Tarbes has a chance to participate in these valuable days.
Simplified Logistics to Maximize Enjoyment
Starting early in the morning, these outings are designed to optimize both time and comfort. Departures occur at 7:15 AM from various points around the city, thus facilitating access for participants. After a day of relaxation by the ocean, the return is scheduled for around 5 PM, allowing for arrival in Tarbes around 7 PM.
How to Register and Participate
Registrations, open on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday afternoons, are made directly at the CCAS of Tarbes. To register, participants must provide a proof of residence, an identity card, and the family record book if children accompany them. Once registration is confirmed, transport tickets for this summer outing are handed out the Thursday afternoon before the departure.
