The collected testimonies indicate shortcomings in cleanliness of accommodations, difficulties related to food hygiene conditions, and aggressive or disrespectful attitudes from some professionals. Worse still, some visitors report potentially deviant behaviors, including assaults or sexual gestures. Such accusations are incompatible with the values of hospitality that form the foundation of the region’s reputation.
An unprecedented institutional reaction
The intermunicipal tourist office, voiced by its president Benoit Normand and its vice-presidents Régine De Medeiros and Didier Burg, therefore disseminated an alert letter to all sector stakeholders as well as to the mayors of the area. This letter is not meant to be accusatory, but aims to raise collective awareness since, according to the office, while the vast majority of providers remain irreproachable, it is essential to inform and support in the face of an abnormal increase in complaints.

The office recalls in its communication that a threshold of three individual complaints against the same provider could lead to the removal of the promotion of this professional from their official materials. This “depublication” is not taken lightly but aims to protect the reputation of Grand Figeac while maintaining a collective quality approach.
