Postcards from the Drôme often show lively villages, but here is an anecdote that raises eyebrows: apart from completely abandoned villages, the least populated municipality in France is here. It is called Rochefourchat, southeast of Valence, and officially had only one resident. A minimalist record that could soar during the 2025 census: rumors now speak of three residents on site.
