The Marriott Vacation Clubs™ amplify their footprint in Asia-Pacific with the announced opening of the Marriott Vacation Club, Khao Lak Beach Resort in August 2025, significant developments in Bali starting in 2026, and the strengthening of a marketing hub in Shanghai. At the heart of this strategy are accommodations inspired by the local lifestyle, experiences focused on sustainability and access to top-notch amenities, while responding to a growing demand for flexible vacation ownership and premium stay rentals.

A New Gem in Khao Lak, Thailand

In Khao Lak, on the west coast of Thailand, The Marriott Vacation Clubs™ will unveil the Marriott Vacation Club, Khao Lak Beach Resort in August 2025, within the JW Marriott Khao Lak Resort & Spa, about 90 minutes from Phuket International Airport. The project reimagines 52 family suites into two-bedroom apartments offered in four configurations, designed to accommodate up to five people. Designed for extended stays, these apartments will feature a spacious living room, a dining area, and comfortable bedrooms, in a warm atmosphere inspired by southern Thailand, with traditional furnishings and local artworks.

Inspired Architecture, Views and Sense of Place

The architecture refers to traditional Lanna style farms with their simple lines: teak details, gable roofs, warm wood paneling, and wide verandas opening onto the Khao Lak mountains. This signature evokes a subtle immersion, blending tropical nature and local aesthetics, while relying on the recognized hospitality and quality of the Marriott Vacation Club® portfolio.

Sustainability and Sensory Experiences

Within the JW Marriott campus, the JW Garden illustrates the establishment’s commitment to a responsible future. Over 200 varieties of fruits, vegetables, and herbs are cultivated to supply the restaurants. Visitors have access to classes and workshops focused on agriculture, sustainability, and well-being. The experience alongside Marriott Vacation Club follows the same momentum: reduction of single-use plastics, reusable glass bottles in the rooms, and bamboo key cards as a biodegradable alternative.

Destination Amenities

The resort features an impressive lagoon pool of about one and a half miles, the largest in Southeast Asia, a children’s pool, and a collection of 11 restaurants and pool bars. By the end of 2026, pickleball and basketball courts, an adventure golf course, and bikes for exploring the area are expected to complement the offering.

Timeline, Reservations and Tourism Dynamics

Thailand is experiencing a resurgence in attractiveness, supported by favorable public policies: visa exemptions for certain travelers, strengthening of air connections, and a national promotion campaign, not to mention the global spotlight brought by recent film productions. In Khao Lak, reservations for future rental stays are open on MarriottVacationClubs.com. Owners and Abound by Marriott Vacations™ members can already use their Club points for arrivals starting August 28, 2025. Expansion Projects in Bali

In Indonesia, The Marriott Vacation Clubs accelerates in Bali with new accommodations planned for early 2026. The Marriott’s Bali Nusa Dua Terrace will host 32 additional apartments: 16 one-bedroom units and 16 two-bedroom units, all equipped with a full kitchen and a private pool. A pool of about 2,200 square feet and a terrace of about 4,500 square feet will enhance the area, featuring a bar and bookable cabanas.

Marriott’s Enclave at Bali Nusa Dua Terrace: New Signature Offerings

Starting next year, within the existing complex of Nusa Dua Terrace, Marriott’s Enclave at Bali Nusa Dua Terrace will offer independent accommodations on two levels: 13 two-bedroom apartments and 13 three-bedroom apartments, each with a private pool and a kitchen. The site will include a dedicated lobby, a kids club, a fitness room, a pool bar, and a lounge reserved for owners.

Cross Access to Facilities and Resort Spirit

Owners, members, and guests of both locations will have full access to the facilities of the nearby Renaissance Bali Nusa Dua Resort: five restaurants and bars, a pool, a full spa, and a fitness center. A Strategic Strengthening in Shanghai

In Shanghai, The Marriott Vacation Clubs is consolidating its marketing setup with the expansion of its call center: from 80 to about 125 employees, in new premises opening in summer 2025. This hub plays a key role in supporting marketing and engaging owners, members, and vacationers, strengthening customer proximity throughout the region. In the background, the rise of leisure travel among a Chinese and international clientele supports this operational ramp-up.

Why Shanghai Matters

Beyond a simple call platform, this regional hub streamlines customer relationships, optimizes appointment scheduling, and enhances the presentation of point-based vacation ownership offers, while assisting with stay projects. At the Asia-Pacific level, it becomes an essential link to support the openings and expansions announced in Thailand and Indonesia.

Context and Vision of The Marriott Vacation Clubs

From Orlando (Florida), the headquarters of the parent company Marriott Vacations Worldwide Corporation, The Marriott Vacation Clubs™ brings together flagship brands in vacation ownership, including Marriott Vacation Club®, Sheraton® Vacation Club, and Westin® Vacation Club. Rising Demand and Targeted Investments

The increasing interest in vacation ownership among Asian travelers, coupled with the loyalty of international owners and members, fuels this phase of investment.
