The key reopening dates
The reopening of Notre-Dame follows a precise schedule. December 7 and 8 will mark the official opening of the cathedral, with memorable ceremonies, including a first mass open to all scheduled for Sunday at 6:30 PM. Starting on December 8, visitors will be able to access the cathedral, but at well-defined hours: on the 8th from 5:30 PM to 10:00 PM and, subsequently, from December 9 to 13, from 3:30 PM to 10:00 PM. On the weekend of December 14 and 15, it will be open from 3:30 PM to 8:00 PM.
Starting from December 16, Notre-Dame will resume its usual hours: every day from 7:45 AM to 7:00 PM, with several masses. It should be noted that starting from March 2025, access will be limited to individual visitors for a period.
Reservations: a necessary step
To ensure a pleasant and smooth visit, a system of prior reservation has been established, and this, even if it is not mandatory. This free service allows you to choose a time slot for your visit via a dedicated application or on the official Notre-Dame website. Without a reservation, you will have to queue at the entrance, with the risk that there may be no more availability if the limit of 3,000 people at the same time is reached. It would be a great shame not to be able to enter.
The free entry
To the question of free access, the answer is clear: the visit will remain free, which is quite rare for a cathedral of this magnitude. For comparison, in other major cities, entry fees can reach up to twenty euros. Thus, Notre-Dame stands out by offering this experience without an access fee.
