Discovering the E4 Path
The E4 Path is one of the greatest hiking epics in Europe. Connecting Spain to Greece, this route covers approximately 10,450 km and traverses breathtaking landscapes. By combining several long-distance paths, it offers an impressive blend of sports challenges and cultural exploration.
An adventure through 10 countries
This trek is not just a simple hike: it is a journey through 10 different countries, from Spain to Greece. With varied landscapes ranging from Andalusian mountains to Mediterranean beaches, each stage will reveal a new facet of Europe. You will pass through France, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Hungary, Romania, Serbia, Bulgaria, and finally, you will reach Greece.
The first steps in Spain
It all begins in Tarifa, in southern Spain, where the waves of the Atlantic meet the Mediterranean. This first section of over 2,000 km takes you through Andalusia, where you can admire Granada and the Sierra Nevada. Heading North, you will discover the magical landscapes of Catalonia before reaching Andorra and finally France.
The majesty of France to Switzerland
Once in France, the E4 Path guides you through regions rich in history and culture. From Carcassonne to the Cévennes, through the Monts d’Ardèche, each step takes you back in time. After exploring Provence, the route leads you to the heart of the Alps, right up to the Swiss border, passing through picturesque villages and breathtaking panoramas.
Crossing Switzerland
Switzerland is a true natural jewel, and with the Jura Crest Trail, you will be surrounded by lakes and mountains as far as the eye can see. This section is both soothing and refreshing, allowing you to recharge your batteries before continuing your alpine adventure to Austria.
Exploring the Alps and beyond
In Austria and Germany, the route becomes mountainous. You will have the chance to cross majestic panoramas up to Salzburg. Next, the trail takes you to Hungary via the Blue Trail, offering fascinating views of the plains and lush hills.
The final steps toward Greece
As you continue your journey, you will have the choice to explore Romania or Serbia, before reaching Bulgaria. Each country offers you a unique blend of culture and landscape. Finally, the trail ends at the small port of Gytheio in Greece, a beautiful reward after all these efforts.
