IN BRIEF
|
The reception center of Saint-Front illustrates a model of eco-responsible tourism by adopting sustainable practices that combine comfort, education, and environmental protection. Renowned for its awareness initiative, the center stands out with its concrete actions in favor of the planet while offering an enriching experience for its visitors.
A Seminar Focused on Sustainability
Recently, the reception center had the honor of hosting a seminar on the European Ecolabel and Sustainable Catering, organized by the Ligue de l’enseignement. This event, which took place over two days, brought together staff from several tourist accommodations committed to ecological transition. The main objective was to share knowledge and practices aimed at promoting sustainable tourism, thus contributing to a future that is more respectful of our environment.
The Story of a Sustainable Commitment
Since 1992, the Ligue de l’enseignement has been working for environmentally friendly tourism. The center in Saint-Front has been part of this approach for many years and has been recognized for its efforts. Holder of the European Ecolabel since June 2023, it is one of the 32 tourist accommodations certified by the Ligue, attesting to its desire to preserve natural resources. The center’s team, composed of members aware of environmental issues, actively participates in this transition.
Daily Initiatives
The reception center’s efforts do not stop at evaluation periods. Every day, it implements concrete actions aimed at reducing its ecological footprint. Managing water and energy consumption, as well as optimizing the use of chemical products, are priorities. Moreover, special attention is paid to waste management and food waste, reflecting the staff’s ongoing commitment to a sustainable future.
Small Gestures for a Big Impact
Among the notable initiatives implemented at the center, the installation of water flow reducers helps save precious resources. On the other hand, the revision of electrical installations to choose more energy-efficient equipment illustrates a desire to reduce consumption. By eliminating disposable products and integrating sustainable alternatives, each gesture contributes to a significant impact on preserving our planet. Young customers, whether on holiday or on school trips, are also involved through displays and educational games, encouraging them to adopt ecological practices at home.
A Committed Catering Offering
The center also stands out for its sustainable catering offer, incorporating a reference food project. The director, Mathieu Trosselo, has initiated collaborations with local stakeholders to establish a Territorial Food Project. This project promotes an alternative cuisine that respects the principles of sustainable food. During the seminar, a workshop was even offered to share these practices with the participants, highlighting the importance of an environmentally friendly diet.
