In the starry sky of Lisbon, a restaurant stands out for its elegant atmosphere and refined cuisine: SEEN. Located at the top of the Tivoli Avenida da Liberdade hotel, this place promises an unforgettable culinary experience that blends contemporary Mediterranean gastronomy with Japanese flavors. Discover in this article the different facets of this restaurant that is sure to captivate you.
A prestigious ambiance
Upon entering, one is immersed in an inspiring atmosphere with its Art Deco design, combined with dim lighting and lush vegetation. Seated near large bay windows, we were able to admire the breathtaking view of the hills of Lisbon, a true feast for the eyes. The space, although able to accommodate up to 200 guests, remains surprisingly brimming with calm and intimacy, a perfect balance for a gastronomic evening.
A unique access
To access SEEN, simply take a private elevator from the hotel lobby. This ride takes you directly to the ninth floor, where a modern reception awaits you, framed by the greenery of a majestic tree. From there, you will be welcomed by a dazzling scene, where a central 360° bar sparkles under an enchanting green setting.
An original culinary fusion
SEEN is not just a simple restaurant; it is a culinary adventure. The menu offers a delicious fusion of Mediterranean and Japanese cuisine. In terms of options, expect refined dishes like Lobster Spaghettini, Tacos, and Wagyu sashimi, not to mention an impressive selection of sushi and sashimi.
Tasty appetizers
To start our meal, we chose a beet carpaccio, a true festival of colors with three shades of beet (pink, purple, and yellow) sprinkled with feta cheese, capers, and caramelized macadamia nuts, all enhanced with orange and lime juice. This dish was paired with an Esporao Reserva Branco, a white wine from Alentejo that matched perfectly with the fresh and tangy flavors of our starter.
Exceptional main courses
For the main courses, we chose a blackened cod accompanied by exquisite ricoh rice, as well as a Franguinho, marinated chicken in miso, garnished with kimuchi and served with a gratin of artichokes. Each bite was a harmony of textures and tastes, reinforcing the idea that Olivier da Costa‘s cuisine deserves to be widely recognized.
The sweet pleasure
As a conclusion, we were tempted by a banana cake, extremely decadent, adorned with a crunchy peanut topping and served with salted caramel ice cream. A dessert that is both comforting and bold, perfect to conclude our gastronomic experience.
A place to recommend
SEEN manages to combine impressive panoramas and high-end gastronomy in a setting where space and friendliness meet. The bar also offers a range of cocktails as well as a delightful wine selection, promising to satisfy all palates. If succumbing to a little indulgence is a crime, then it would be unfair not to give in to the temptation of SEEN during your next visit to Lisbon.
