Immerse yourself in a world of elegance and refinement, where every detail transports you to a bygone era. Prepare to be seduced by this architectural gem nestled in the heart of lush greenery, ready to welcome you for an enchanted break.

An architectural gem between Caen and Bayeux

Located in Normandy, between the picturesque towns of Caen and Bayeux, the Audrieu Castle is much more than just a place to stay; it’s a real time machine. Elegantly designed and oh so sumptuous, this castle, an honored member of the Relais & Châteaux collection, promises you an unforgettable immersion in history and luxury.

The timeless charm of the Martel family

Part of the 2L Collection created by Pierre-André Martel and Hélène Martel-Massignac and today managed by Lorène Martel, the Château d’Audrieu is distinguished by its family atmosphere. With its four emblematic residences – Hôtel Cinq Codet in Paris, Château de Fonscolombe in Provence, Hôtel des Lumières in Versailles and of course, Château d’Audrieu – the collection embodies the excellence of the French “art of living”.

A journey through time

As you pass through the majestic gates of the castle, you are immediately transported to another century, that of the princesses and princes of the 18th century. The master of the house, Loïc Le Berre, likes to remind us that this residence was a real family home from 1715 to 1976, and even today, it embodies a sanctuary of tranquility and renewal.

Exceptional architecture and interior

The castle, founded by Mr. Percy, cook to William the Conqueror, has survived the ages without losing its splendor. Each piece of this opulent residence offers a dive into history thanks to its period furniture, its original fireplaces, and its incredible woodwork. If 10 of the 29 rooms and suites were modernized in 2015, they have lost none of their historic charm, subtly combining tradition and modernity.

Rooms and Suites for total immersion

Each of the 29 rooms and suites offers a splendid view of the park, the garden or the village church. The Junior Suites and Suites bear illustrious names like Marguerite, Henriette or Percy, and are decorated with authentic Louis XV and Louis XVI furniture. Between the wall hangings signed by major French publishing houses and the period fireplaces, every corner exudes French know-how and refinement.

An enchanted break in the park

With its 25 hectares of wooded park and its multicolored flowers, the Château d’Audrieu is a true haven of peace. Whether you want to relax by the heated swimming pool, enjoy tea in the guest lounge, or simply stroll through the leafy paths, every moment spent in these gardens will remind you of the elegance of castle life.

Le Séran: Gastronomy and refinement

Don’t miss out on discovering the château’s gourmet restaurant, Le Séran, where the young chef Samuel Gaspar, a virtuoso of instinctive cooking, concocts dishes that are as tasty as they are elegant. His inventive menu and menus between land and sea or bucolic plants reflect his love for fresh and local products.

The restaurant’s signature dishes include:

  • Grilled green asparagus, light coffee, toasted brioche
  • Perfect Normandy egg, Dubarry cauliflower, elderberry vinegar
  • Poularde de Culoiseau, green lentil stew and mushroom textures
  • Monkfish, peas, carrot reduction, nasturtium
  • Texture of chocolate, cocoa nibs, black pepper
  • Norman pear, lemon balm, perry
